On March the 24th the Emergency Plug® was deployed in Voerendaal, in the Dutch province of Limburg, after a car collided with a lamppost and emergency responders were unable to engage the handbrake. The occupants were safely taken to hospital by ambulance.

The makers of the programme 112 VANDAAG were impressed by the Emergency Plug® and featured it on broadcast of the show on RTL5 on Dutch television. Ralf Adams gave a brief explanation of how the Emergency Plug® works and provided a short demonstration in the studio.
